January 2002 Club Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President Paul Becka at 7:13pm.
The following club members were present:

President�s Report: (Paul Becka)

  1. Great Job to Mickey for setting up the awesome web site
  2. Sportsman of the year nominations will be held today. (Secret ballot)
  3. Keep on eye out in the next few Bass Master magazines, Paul sent a letter to the editor.

Vice President�s Report: (Robin Olson)

  1. Our tournament lake selections were turned into Al and it looks like we'll be okay for all tournaments this year.
  2. Within the next few meetings Robin will have Lake maps and launch locations for all our tournaments.
  3. Only 9 more days until the banquet, push hard for donations. The pick'ns looks pretty slim so far.

Secretary/Treasurers Report: (Mike D'Aloia)

  1. Balance as of 01/25/02: $2275.80. This does not include the $31.40 received from the Bass Pro shop.
  2. Transactions since our last meeting:

Web Master: (Mickey Goetting)

  1. So far we've received $232.00 from the Bass Pro Shop. We are $5.00 over the cost of our web-site for the past 2 years. (Making a profit)
  2. 2-5% of purchases goes towards our club.
  3. There is a lot of good pictures and just general stuff on the web site. Take a look�

Federation Report: (Jim Haynes)

  1. The Federation meeting will be held this weekend up in St. Cloud. Everyone is invited to attend.
  2. If you ordered one of the Quick-Cull systems please pay Jim as soon as you can.

Special Projects: (Bill Young)

  1. The banquet is all set up:
  2. Date: 2 Feb 2002 (VFW)  
    Time: 6:00pm cocktails  
    Dinner: 7:00pm  
    Entertainment: TBD  

Data Director: (Cal McCracken)

  1. Cal has paper copies of the roster in case you haven't received it via e-mail.
  2. Get your proof of boat insurance into Cal prior to our first tournament.

Old Business:

  1. Bill received a box of Bass Digest magazines to pass out. The editor asked if we would pay $1.00 per issue to off set the cost of printing/shipping. The club vote yes and I sent a check to Bass Digest for $27.00.
  2. Craig brought up the family/club tournament and would like to know what we wanted to do. The club voted on both a family tournament in the summer and an end of the year club Hawg Hunt. Craig will select a few lakes and dates for us to vote on at the next meeting.

New Business:

  1. The Stockton trip was discussed and the dates set for the 11th -14th of April. It looks like we have about 14 people who have committed to participate.
  2. The Casting Kids event is scheduled for the 9th of March in Chanhassen. This looks to be an all day event and we will be hosting the Boy Scouts. This will be in conjunction with their annual PineWood Derby. Our club has volunteered to run the show so if you can make it please give Bill/Paul B. your name.
  3. Bill asked if anyone was interested in getting a new club jacket with embroidery. If you're interested see Bill.

Education Director (Dale Richardson):

  1. Once again Dale facilitated a great discussion on line use in conjunction with different lure presentations.
Good Job Dale��. Don't forget the annual awards banquet and hope to see you all there.

President�s Report: (Paul Becka)

  1. Paul thanked Bill and Dale for the great job in organizing the banquet and the awesome power point presentation.
  2. Robin couldn't make it to the meeting and pass along to Paul that he will have the tournament packages ready at the next meeting.
  3. Robin has all the permits for our tournaments with the exception of one.

Secretary/Treasurers Report: (Mike D'Aloia)

  1. Our current balance is $2360.63
  2. We brought in $579.25 in raffle ticket sales.
  3. Trophies were $405.82

Web Master: (Mickey Goetting)

  1. We currently have $45.03 in the Bass Pro Shop Que. Keep ordering your stuff from the BPS.
  2. Mickey gave a great presentation on last years stats and showed how the club has improved over the years��

Federation Report: (Jim Haynes)

  1. Last year it was estimated that MN Bass Federation Anglers spent over 4M on the MN economy
  2. All state team members have a meeting this Sat. 2 March. (Good Luck Brad)
  3. The upcoming Sportsmen show needs volunteers to help staff the booth.
  4. Get your Stearns life jacket requests in.

Special Projects: (Bill Young)

  1. The Casting Kids Event scheduled for 9 March will be held at the St Huberts Church (In the gym). So far we have 17 people signed up to help out. We can use all the help we can get so if you're not busy that day please come out and give us a hand. Bill will provide direction on how to get there soon.
  2. We would like everyone to show up around 7:00am to help set-up. Mike D. will bring in donuts and refreshments. The event is scheduled to start at 9:00am and run to 4:00pm. We are expecting about 140 kids to participate.

Data Director: (Cal McCracken)

  1. The new roster and stats sheets are posted and e-mailed out.
  2. Don't forget to get your current boat insurance info to Cal.

Old Business:

  1. Paul passed around the sign-up sheet for the Stockton trip. It looks like most people will head down on The 10th of April and returning on the 14th. We plan to hold a small team tournament on Sat the 13th. Details to be discussed later.
  2. No word on the Jackets Bill ordered yet. The price w/embroidering is going to be around $100.

New Business:

  1. Dale has flight simulator time today at 3:00pm. If anyone is interested contact Dale.
  2. Troy debriefed his Mexico trip. Sounds like Paul, Joel and Troy had a great time. Big fish was a little over 8lbs.
